Our family has actually been going to Wyntoon every summer since 1975 missing only one year to go to Disneyland. It became a family tradition and my kids and my brothers kids all look forward to going each summer. My father is now retired and lives in Trinity Center. KOA took over Wyntoon about 3 years ago and has made some changes but it is still a wonderful place to camp!

Friends of the Santa Ana River Trail is a volunteer community group involved in trail safety education, eco-friendly preservation and recreational multi-use of the Santa Ana River Trail system in Southern California. The Santa Ana River Trail spans over 120 miles through Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties. The trail is one of the largest non-motorized social boulevards in the United States. It is a favorite bicycling route in California.
Bailey Cove Campground

First off let me say that my husband and I were excited about camping for the 1st time with our son and purposely picked a location close to water so we could picnic near the lake and maybe even swim. Bailey cove is a little misleading as the cove has not had water for quite a few years and there is not any easy access to the lake unless you have a boat. Also, the campground itself sits right off the highway so you hear the traffic all night long. Bees and wasps are also an issue if you ever plan on eating while you are camping, be aware and pack lots of spray. the campsites do have picnic tables, a fire pit, tent pad and very nice bathrooms, it is a small campsite which is also nice but do not be misled by the name or descriptions you might read.
Camp Richardson Campground

We just got back from 3 nights at Camp Richardson in the campground. On the second night we were "visited" by 4 bears within a 4 hour period, rummaging in trash and neighboring coolers right in front of the campers. The bears were easily scared out of our campsite, but the last visitors were a mama bear and two cubs. Each campsite has a food locker and there are bear-resistant dumpsters by the bathrooms, but there are also regular push-lid trash cans by each bathroom door, which helped attract the bears. If anyone had gotten between mama and cubs at the bathrooms by accident it would have been very dangerous. Security agreed that this was a danger, but the trash cans remained the next night. The housekeeping people stated that everyone should just "know" not to put food in those cans. While I agree with others that this is a bare-bones campground with loud, drunken visitors and terrible facilities, I would NOT recommend this campground based on the lax bear precautions and attitude.
