My wife and four children aged 6-12 camped for two nights with a tent. The base cost for a campsite at any KOA is $36 per night but they told us that this was only based on four people so we had to pay an additional $12 ($6 each for the two extra kids). So our cost for a night of tenting for our family was $48 per night. That evening my sister and her son come over for supper at our campsite - they were there for two hours and didn't use any camp facilities other than the picnic table and yet during supper the manager came over and told us that we had to pay $5 each for their visit... which took our cost for a tenting site to $58 plus taxes. This is a complete rip off and when I politely but frankly pointed this out to the manager he told me to pack our gear and get out! We had done nothing to deserve this experience - I'd never raised my voice or said anything other than to point out the obvious which is that they were obviously not family oriented. We'll never stay at a KOA again.
