Newport News campground is an outstanding place to stay. My wife and I average about 55 days a year for several years at NNP. The sites are spacious and heavily treed. The down side of the many trees is the difficulty if getting a satellite shot. With experience you can request the sites where you can get line of sight. I stay in B28, B30, and B32. These sites still require a portable dish and a couple hundred feet of coax. I get Direct TV with local channels.

There are many sites with views of the wonderful lake. There are many miles of bike and hiking trails and plentiful wildlife; the beaver are my favorite.

What keeps NNP from being a 10 is the lack of sewer and cable at the site. These is a wonderful city owned park, please check it out.
