Salton Sea was created by accident when a dike broke during the construction of the All-American Canal in 1905. This 360 square-mile basin is a popular site for boaters, water-skiers and anglers. Fish include ocean corvina, gulf croaker, tilapia and sargo. The Salton Sea i sone of the largest inland seas in the world: 35 miles long with 110 miles of shoreline. Boating, windsurfing, waterskiing, swimming, fishing, and birdwatching are all popular. The picnic area is wheelchair-accessible. |
