| MISTY RIVER NAMED CAMPGROUND-OF-THE-YEAR
Misty River Cabins & RV Resort was named small Tennessee Campground-of-the-Year at ceremonies in Nashville yesterday during a meeting of the Tennessee Association of RV Parks & Campgrounds (TNARVC). The park was so recognized for its accomplishments in campground operations, marketing, management, and industry unity.
Owned and operated by Diane & Jimmy Felton, Misty River was transformed from a corn field into an RV resort just two years ago. It has all of the modern conveniences that the camper of today is looking for. Misty River has 72 large, wide sites, 54 of which are pull thrus. All are full hookup with cable TV and free WiFi service. The bathhouse is state-of-the-art with large private bathrooms like you would find in a home. It was definitely built with the family in mind. Four of the bathrooms are handicap accessible with zero barrier showers. “We want families to make memories that last a lifetime. That way their kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids will want to make their own memories camping”, said Jimmy Felton.
The resort uses guest reviews to help them get a non-biased camper review of their facilities. So far, they have had 68 campers participate in the survey who have given them an overall rating of A with a grade of 4.8 out of a possible 5. Misty River also has a grade of A+ for cleanliness.
As one camper noted: “This place is great. We pulled in late after the office had closed and we were still met by a member of the staff. He helped us with our setup and opened the store to get us a sewer hose. This resort has to be the best run and friendliest placed I have ever stayed.” |

| We have stayed at Up the Creek two times. We could not have asked for anyplace better. My husband got sick while we were there and we had car problems. The management were very helpful in getting me a rental car and offering to help us get ready to come home. We will definitely be staying there again. |

| The Resort owner runs a tight ship, keeping her eye on every facet of the Resort operation.
The guys at the marina, ALL of them, were extremely helpful. Not being a spring chicken, I required help getting in and out of the rental boat. The marina help was always available and always helpful.
Now when the brochure says gas, bait, and ice comes with the rental boat, that's just what they mean. And they are not skimpy with any of it.
We were there during the erly season and I figured that since their annual crappie tournament was on that the fishing would be great
and the weather pretty good. Wrong! The weather was overcast and moist with temperatures around 54 degrees on land and several degrees lower on the lake. Fishing was very spotty due to the weather.
Now this was the early season...weather and the fish bite is not controlled by the resort, and absolutely no blame can be given to them.
I rate the place 5 stars and would highly recommend the Resort to anyone. I think, however, my stay would be delayed to at least mid May. Better weather, but then guessig the weather is a crap shoot.
No matter what, though, the service will be excellent! |

| We spent a week at Up The Creek campground two couple weeks after they opened. When we arrived, we learned that the cable wouldn't be installed for a few more days. We received 50 amp service at no extra charge because of the inconvenience.
The campground is only four miles off the Parkway, but it feels like you have entered a different world. The park is quiet and serene. The stone patio was great! Although the sites were closer than I expected, we looked at some of the other places in the area and knew we made a good decision by staying here. The only thing that kept us from giving the park a "10" was the mosquitoes. We will definitely return to Up The Creek again the next time we go to the Smoky Mountains. |

| This was our 9th year at Cypress Point. Most years, the weather has been good. Only a couple years were less than good. However, we have always brought home lots of fish. This year was a little below average, with 14 1/2 pounds (Blue Gill Filets). Every year, the Staff has been great. The boat and Marinapersonnel are second to none. We always come in April, and have allready reserved our cabins for 2011. |

| Lisa is correct the pool was closed and stayed closed most of the weeked due to rain and lighting. She must not have gone inside the store since the laundry room is inside it and so is the game room. The store is non-smoking so I can say she is mistaken about the smell and the cabins are cleaned after use and then closed and locked. The bathrooms are cleaned everyday of the week at 11:30am. As for the spiders they live at the park and pay for their rent by keeping the flying insects under control. I am not sure how Lisa figured out where my wife lives becuase upstairs is a rented apartment. And she does not drink or smoke. The hours are posted for the pool, store and laundry, sorry she can not read. Albert (the EMU) has a very grassy over grown pen delibertly. He is to be seen when he wants to be and likes the privacy especially when summer heat is on. If Lisa was at the EMU pen I am not sure how she missed the automatic feeder for the geese and no it does not have corn in it. I am sorry Lisa was not satisfied with here stay but there there is little I can do about the weather and she was not at the park long enough to understand what and who she commented about.

| This was the best trip we ever took at Reelfoot, this was our 5th year at Whites. Then in 2007 they wouldn't let us stay unless we bought fishing packages, why should I pay for a boat that I'm NOT USING. Then in 2008 we were told we had to be year round or they couldn't promise we would have a spot when we got there. This really sucked because the 5 yrs. we stayed in the past were great. |

| Not what advertised. Small sites, stacked on top of each other. You register while parked in the middle of the road. Really out of the way from the Interstate. Not a very good place. |

| Yuck.
Access to the campground was via a dirt and gravel driveway in such bad condition that you needed a 4wd to get down it. Attempting this road with a trailer or RV would probably damage your suspension.
That road was indicative of the overall condition of the campground. Pool was out of order, Bathrooms not clean. Even the sign out front needs a major face-lift.
All indications were that this campground has not been well maintained.
After seeing this place I turned right around and left. First time I've ever done that at a campground. I needed a place to stay, but it was not going to be Ballyhoo. |
